Official Launch of The WE Movement And Call for WE Champions - Press Conference
Invitation to Press Conference, Official launch of the WE Movement and call for WE Champions
On August 3, 2010, you are cordially invited to attend the press conference announcing the official launch of the WE Movement and issuing a call to action for WE Champions.
Join WE representatives along with singer and talk show host, Laura Bryna; California Lieutenant Governor, Abel Moldonado; California Senate President pro Tempore, Darrell Steinberg; former California Senate President pro Tempore and 2010 candidate for mayor of Oakland, Don Perata; and External Affairs Coordinator, Office of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bryce Benson; all of whom are scheduled to speak at the event.
About the WE Movement
The WE Movement is an innovative community-based outreach effort that functions through an online "search and match" software program (HELP4U) linking "those that have"-individuals or companies with goods, products and services they wish to offer to "those who do not," those less fortunate and most fragile among us-as well as to groups or associations in need, who could make good use of the donated goods, products or services.
The WE Movement is a grassroots nonpartisan, nonpolitical effort geared to coordinate resources in the areas of health care, financial services, housing, legal guidance, youth programs and education. We are issuing an appeal to community activists to step forward and become WE Champions, people who actively spread the WE word in their respective communities and gather participants, effectively extending the reach of the WE Movement.
The conference will feature the aforementioned scheduled speakers, a demonstration on how WE is using HELP4U, a testimonial from a Provider and a Recipient who have already participated in the WE Movement, comments from WE Champion, Oakland region, Marsha Martin, and a showing of the movement's PSA featuring Bill Medley, Mindy Sterling, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lee Greenwood, Maz Jobrani and Laura Bryna.
